I have a 97 ek with a type r .it is a obd2 wiring harness with obd1 jumper.now I've been told that my alternator is the reason why mu car won't go over 5000 rpm.and I think I may have the wrong alternator on the motor.which one should I use anyway?now the h.I.d.s flash and the speedo don't work or the tach.and the battery is dead so I'm going to push start it.I thought this was a dizzy problem but people say check this first.so I'm asking should I get a 1998 90amp alternator off a type r and will it plug up.thankyou

Sounds like you may be in safe mode and have a dead alternator and/or battery. Separate issues.
