Need suspension help ASAP
Yo guys. I was installing skunk2 lowering springs on my eg. When we tried to remove the rear right lca bolt, it broke ( just the head cracked off theres a lot left in there) . Do I have to buy a new lca and press a bearing or smash it out and press in a new bearing ? Also am I all right to drive to school and back for the next day or two ? Let me know! thanks
i wouldnt drive it. you would need to get a reverse drill bit and drill it out. your best bet is to grind the nut on the back end where the bolt threads, would be easiest.
i have almost the entire bolt left holding on ... I think ill be ok to drive and get it fixed and go down the street to school. i know i have to grind it out but then what I just replace the bushing ? ( or bolt )
Happen to me once, turn out the lower control arm had a welded nut, I shot out the wrong side. Instead of shooting out the bolt, I shot out the welded nut. I did at the time thought I broke off the head of the bolt because it kind of looks like it. Check the other side of the bolt and see what's up. Let us know. Good luck.
It's probably not good to drive it, but use some common sense to decide if it's a terrible idea or not (sounds like you already have). I would also say just drill it out. I'm sure a new bushing wouldn't hurt. Or just pick up some new LCAs, they usually come with bushings installed.
