How to test fuel pump?
civic that won't start.
I've check/done so far:
-battery good
- full tank of gas
- have spark
- all fuse are good
- main relay good (even have 2 other spares ones)
- ECU ground good (located on thermostat)
I went to junkyard and got 2 more EG fuel pumps. I've swapped both in, still won't start.
I don't hear it prime (5-8sec when key is on IGN II).
Questions:
1) Is there a way to test fuel pump to make sure it's working?
2) is there a way to find out of fuel pump is getting POWER?

when you turn your key on you should hear the fuel pump run. its a quiet whiny noise coming from under your back seat. if you dont hear it, take out the seat and put a meter on your fuel pump (under metal cover) and see if you have power. i'm not sure which wire its supposed to be, it's been awhile since i've worked on a honda fuel pump
I took the plate cover.
Now I have 1 connector plug going into the fuel pump
It has yellow wire with silver spots & another black wire with silver spots.
I'm assuming yellow/silver is power
black/silver is ground.
With my multimeter i bought at autzone, do I:
a) keep the connector plugged up to the fuel pump,
then stick red probe from multimeter to the inside of the yellow/silver connector & the black probe from mulitmeter to the black/silver connector?
or
b) keep the connector plugged up to the fuel pump,
red probe into yellow/silver
black probe touching chassie/ground
Thanks guys.
1) Unplug the connector and measure voltage between the two plug terminals while a buddy turns the key to ON(II). Battery voltage should appear for 2 seconds.
2) If no voltage is detected, then do a similar voltage test where you measure voltage between the Yel wire terminal and body ground.
