Default Inline Fuel Pump ???'s...

Where do I tap into power for my inline fuel pump? I have an Airtex fuel pump, on a 94 Integra LS. Any help on this would be greatly apprectiated, Thanks.

"Ground the fuel pump to the engine or chassis. Using a wire tap connector, connect the positive terminal of the fuel pump to pin 4 of the factory fuel pump main relay located underneath the dash board (the main relay is a gray box which clicks when the ignition is turned on). Note: you must use a minimum of 14-gauge wire to connect the fuel pump terminal and relay. Reconnect the negative terminal and turn key to ignition position two and check for any fuel leaks. Repeat the process 3-4 times. Note: when connected properly, the fuel pump will run for about a second and then shut off. If the fuel pump constantly runs after the ignition is turned on, then the fuel pump is tapped into the wrong pin -- disconnect wire and connect to pin 7."

If it stays on you just have it on the wrong wire. Its not bad but you had have your keys in the #2 position to say roll up and down your windows w/o turning on the car.

Since i'm using a standalone, I'm using a standard 20amp 12V toggle switch to manually arm my fuel pump. If i understand correctly, the regulator should keep the pressure in the rail to a certain PSI so it'll be ok if the pump is constantly running?

how does having standalone relate to having inline feed power toggling ability? And also, any idea how much current you are actually running through that 20amp switch? seems like a lot for a switch, but i guess it works for an unrelayed feed side cut. And as far as I know, yes it will be ok for the pump to run all times but because it runs all times, you made the power windows circuit hot on run only... somethng like that. Maybe I am drunk

I'm using a Speedpro ECU and it's tapped into the main fuel injection relay to control the fuel pump. The fuel pump is priming when the key is turned to the second notch but it's not pumping any fuel while the motor is running. I was going to try and manually arm the fuel pump to see if that was the problem. That or i'll have to run a seperate relay.

Or run a wire from the fuel pump in the back itself(as signal) to separate relay. For sure you have the correct wire this way(i was running wire for battery anyway so i did this, i know where the stock relay it but is a PITA to get to.)

I used a seperate relay to power up the pump, but used the stock pump signal to turn on the switch in the relay.

damn art, you never get tired of answering this very same question... i've seen your relay pic at least in four different 'inline fuel pump' threads.

My first time seeing it. So art, you wired this up to the extra relay slot in the main underhood box or what?

im not art and your question kinda confused me but i tucked my relay in under the glove box. all the sources for it (minus the stock pump wire) were near the relay, 12v, +, ground.

When I ran my inline, I just bolted the extra relay to the side of the engine bay, next to my foglamp relay.

I know you're not art, I was refering to art above your post. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the info. Nobody's had any probs w/ bad connections from just leaving the relay exposed to atmosphere and moisture? I was going to leave it free hanging behind what's left of my dash but I'd hate to hafta go back there looking for a circuit failure later on.

Whatever you do DO NOT use a scotch lock to tap in to the wire. Properly spread and solder on to. The scotch lock will eventually bite its way all the way through the wire and break it, they are absolute crap!! (FYI A scotch lock is a little clip that you place the two wires and squeeze a metal clip into the wires)
