Default Time for new Amp?

I used to run a Kenwood 1000 watt amp for my 2 12w0 jls, but i recently changed up to 2 12w6v1 (first series). Should I change the amp for like a 2000 watt amp?

The Pt, [continuous power handling] of a 12W6 is 300W, you do not need more the 1X600-750W RMS into either a 6 ohm, [parallel/series] or 1.5 ohm [parallel/parallel] load.

What is the model number of the Kenwood amp you have, I am assuming the 1000W is a peak/max power and not an RMS wattage. 94
