Default Need Car Mech Help!!!

i have a 1989 Honda Accord LXI.

the problem is that it wont go in gear when its started up. but then its not started up itll go in gear with no problems.

out of the blue it just did this one day. what can it be?????


i try putting it in 1st and starting it up and the car will just jump jump jump like its trying to start.


please help me out if anything.

pressure plate, clutch or throw ut bearing.

My Clutch feels Fine. stepping on it feels normal

would the master cylinder be the cause of this?

I say slave cylinder cause that was what mine did to me when I turned it on I could not get it to gear but when I turne it off I could so check your clutch slave cylinder it's probably that

a seal could have went bad in side a cuase it not to function correctly. u might need a friends help, but one guy presses the petal the other guy watchs to see if it moves, not just a little movement, make sure it extends all the way.

where is it located at? the slave cylinder?

ok then you have a cable transmission, try adjusting the cable (by turning the nut either which way) to see maybe if something is messed up with the cable. If not that then like others said pressure plate clutch throwout.

my car did the same thing and it was the clutch cable. it came loose from the slave, all it needed was to be tightened down again and it was fine. although i don't know if you're in the same boat as i was, how old is your clutch cable?

its time for a new clutch..this happend to me b4 and it was my clutch...
