Default Blox Type A quick settings

Does anyone know what the recommended cam settings are for these cams? 0-0? What about vtec engagement?

I plan on getting street tuned and want a good starting point to cut down on the guess work.

These will be going on an 82x89 ls/vtec with roughly 12.5 compression.

They should give you good power up til about 8600 and vtec worked good at 5500 for me. Different motor may be a bit different for you.

Just looking for a starting point. Thanks for the advice. These are only temporary till I get more cash to do some head work and through something better in there.

What cam settings were you using, 0-0?

I've had skunk2 tuner1s in my GSR motor before, and theyre pretty much the Blox A's. Ive tried 2+I, 0E Vtec at 5200 and it pulled nice. I've also done 4+I, -2E Vtec at 5500, it also ran good. In a FULL interior, PS, AC DC2 integra, BONESTOCK long block, IM, with just the camshafts, intake, Apexi headers, stock cat, it went 14.5 on REALLY shitty hard compound slicks and 2.4 60fts. Coulda went easily 14.3-14.2 with better tires. Oh yeah, on stock suspension too

I also wrote Skunk2 and they replied saying that "you should leave it at 0,0 until you get your car tuned" even then, your car should STILL run good, even with a stock ECU! Remember, these cams were made to be CARB legal, so theyre still gonna run good.

BTW. My cousin used these cams on his stock gsr with bolt on's, and an ecu and only made 155whp without tuning!!!! Thats crazy low(more like stock low)

And there are guys making average 185+whp with the same mods TUNED!
Check out this guys video i found on ytube:

Very nice numbers ideed!

Thanks man. I'm hoping for close to 200whp out of this setup and looow 13sec-high 12sec slips. Should have the motor together and running within the next few days. Gotta talk to my tuner and see when he can get me tuned.

I'd like to know the answers to those questions, too. LMK what your tuner goes with. I'm going to be DIY tuning my Blox A's this summer and I'd like to know what I should start with for VTEC & IAB crossover and rev limit.

Well it was definitely worth it for what I paid. $100 for cams and S2 gears. The car is running. I have them set to 0,0. Need some cash so I can go get it tuned.
