you just do all the panels to match and replace all those upholstery pieces at once. Any good upholstery shop can redo those to look really good, what he said was code for "I don't want to screw with it" , find another shop, thats a really easy to do interior. you'll do better getting a new upholstery design vs trying to exactly match stock. If it looks clean and is well done, does it really matter?

just remember if you have the panels redone, get a couple of extra yards of the same batch of material, then you can do all the small interior pieces to match. I've redone my accords panels a few times, I have wrapped plastic pieces that form the top edges of the doors factory, and the material I put on about 6 years ago had faded badly. I'm going to use artificial leather this time. has a very thin foam backing on it also.

I wouldn't use the 3m, it tends to come unstuck over time, you need real upholstery glue, I use delta glue personally, I don't know if you can get it in less then 5 gallon buckets though. Real upholstery glue is designed to handle the heat and cool cycles inside of the car.
Personally I have never used that delta glue but if you use the 3m properly it works really good. Clean the panel really, really, really good, spray the panel with your adhesive of choice and spray the fabric or material and let them get tacky. Then apply the fabric to the door panel and you should have no problem with it releasing. I can tell you how important it is for everything to be CLEAN.

All I can make out of whats left of the label is delta industrial finishes, it's an industrial contact cement. you have to be super careful with this stuff, it has many of the same explosive components as gas in the solvent, natthane hexane, etc. DON"T smoke anywhere near it, treat it just like gasoline. it's fine once it dries, but it's some serious ****.

here is the problem i have the door panels is that they have the crx logo in the center and really would like to keep it, the shop i went to said they would not be able to put the logo back in, i have covered my old panels with some nice material and use the 3m glue seemed to work good but got rid of them about 6 mouths later, i might look into the other stuff if i decide to go that route

That's the problem I ran into when I decided to recover my door panels. You might be able to cut out the patch with the crx emblem and sow or glue it onto your new material. If you don't feel like trying I have a set of panels that I will try cuting out that center patch with the crx emblem on it. I'll give it a wack sometime this week :thumbump:

they won't do the CRX emblem? it's going in a CRX for crying out loud, keep looking and see if you can find an online embroidery place and tell them you need that added to a piece of material because you are redoing your car interior.
why not order the door panels from your local honda dealer??

sometimes doing it clean and unique is better then original, I know on my car tyey wanted 500 bucks for one piece of the hatch cover, made all my own stuff, I can do a lot more then an upholstered panel for 500 bucks

I know, I wish I had had a crystal ball and saved plenty of them from scrap yards, I would be sitting on a small fortune right now, I can't tell you how many of those I saw ripped up at yards in the past 10-15 years. people need a door part, they just tear up the door panel. I know one time at a yard in Atlanta he crushed about 40 of them in one day, engines and all. had a giant pile of them thrown on top of each other.
