Who does good swaps in MD?
I am buying an EG hatch for the winter late this week. I am thinking about after the winter months go, and the snow dries up, swapping something into my EG. I have talked with many shops in the MD area, but it's hard to judge their work based on their own cars alone. So, all this being said, I would like you recommendations for where to get a swap done. Any friends, shops, or anybody else that does them well, I want to talk to them. I hate leaving my car to the wrong person. Thanks guys, let me know what you think.
if i've got nothing else to do (like school), it shouldn't take much more than a couple days. i've put both sohc and dohc motors, vtec and non-vtec in all civics from 90-00. what kind of motor swap were you looking to do?
whatever you do do not go to import sports in glen burnie they are the worst people to deal with. i had an ls put in my civic and they said they do them all the time and it would only take two days. it took two weeks because they didnt know that a 98 wiring harness would not wire up to my 99 wiring harness. dont make the same mistake that i did if someone says they know the owner or something like that dont believe them the suck.
i know a guy in white marsh that is really really good all you have to do is find a motor and he will put it in. i know him personally and have seen his work and actually have seen the progress and struggle he has had on a car that he did and he does not skimp out he will do all it takes to do the job. if you want his info pm me.
sorry for the long rant but i hate the work and the customer service and everything about import sports.
thanks

why not do it yourself? All the shops I talked to wanted ridiculous $$$ to do it so I just rolled up my sleeves and did it myself. That was three swaps ago and it isn't that hard.
I'm in McLean VA, Or I should say, thats where I do all my work. If you have all the swap parts I could do it for you.

well if you don't mind coming to va, there is a guy at honda that will do it. You can't get much better than that, a actual honda certified mechanic to do the swap. He does great work, i trust him lots. I went in for a simple timing belt change and he cleaned the wires up and found some things that were done wrong on my turbo setup. Doens't charge much either.
personally, i would only go to inlinepro. you get good service and a 100% warranty on your purchase. they have done more swaps out of that shop than everyone around here combined.
only other places i would even consider:
J&D motorsports
CDE motorsports
..........and i wouldn't go to new again for at least another 5 months. there head mechanic is on "vacation".

Geeze, what a brain fart. I mentioned the guy at honda, but **** my car is at Inline Pro not just being swapped but built as well. They do great work and are willing to talk with you to even after you gave them the money, which alot of shops don't care anymore once they get it.
my friend wit to inline pro and has had only good thigns to say about them..all i can say is dont go to metro motorworks in columbia..tehy suck at everything they do and **** it all up
