Default the highway disaster!!

was headed to orlando to meet some friends when all of the sudden my engine stopped wanting to run...so im coasting over the side when i heard a loud pop..
oh ****..i think i just blew the zc!!

so i get over and try to see if it will even turn over hoping i didnt seize the motor..well it just cranks and cranks but not running. pop the hood and everything looks fine..t.belt is on right, got fuel pressure, no knocking. so i wait for the tow truck to get there.brings me back home. by this time im thinking my dizzy blew out..

we get it off the truck and open the fuel filter bleeder to make sure im pumping gas..thats good
pull off the cap...WTF!! the rotor screw is laying on the cap and the rotor is just sitting there!!! only if i had a screw driver on me..i wouldnt have wasted $45 to flatbed it home!!
owell it could have been much worse!!
this time i put locktite on it and tightened it down really well

just thought i would let everyone know..if something similar happens to them!!

HA! A friend of mine had the same problem every other week.
he carried a flash light and wrench with him at all times.
I think it happens most with the aftermarket Dist cap and rotor.
I have a Honda Dist cap and rotor and have never ran into that problem.

You live in Longwood?, I live just north of you in Lake Mary.

ROFL. OMFG this scared the SH*T out of me the first time my B16a did this. I fixed it and it ended up coming out 2 more times on me before I finally learned that locktite (MEDIUM STRENGTH) is the best thing ever created. Never gave me a problem again.
