Will a automatic transmission from a 2001 SH swap into a 97 base model prelude with an automatic transmission. I know the SH has the extra gear box or whatever it is that bolt behind the engine but is the transmission essentially the same other than that?

 

SH is not automatic 5spd ATTS

 

there's no such thing as an automatic transmission from a SH. they only came in 5spd.

Best solution: Sell your auto-sissy-girly-car and just buy a 5spd.

 

kinda hard to sell when 2nd gear is completely shot, no one will buy and i'm not spending 2-3k on a 5 spd swap for a car worth 4k.

Yes. In the US, they all come from the same car (the base model). They are identical, including the transmission code.
