Need HELP - I Tried and Tested EVERYTHING '88 CRX ???????
I Replaced Ingnitor
Hey I need help figuring what is wrong with my 1988 Honda CRX Si I look everywhere on HT and I am finding threads but no specifics. I have tested almost everything that my OEM Manual and Haynes Manual describes. Lastly there was a bunch of Red Powder in the distributor housing could this mean my Crank Angel Sensor is going out.
Thanks In Advance
I have TESTED the following already
-------------------------------------
1. Fuel and pump - Good
2. Coil is a little out of spec 8 OHMS - Range is suppose to be 5-7 OHMS?
3. Replaced Ignitor
4. Car cranks over but will not start.
5. Replace with a good ECU because last ECU was throwing some funky codes like 21 ?
6. Red powder in Distributor housing could this be the Crank Angle Sensor going bad?
7.

Have you checked to see if it is no gas or no spark that is causing the no start problem?
Try and start engine, crank several times, immediately remove a spark plug and see if it is wet with gas, does it smell of gas?
Plug spark plug into spark plug lead and ground spark plug and have someone crank engine, do you have spark, is it a good spark?
You did not mention that you had checked timing, both ign. and valve timing.
You need to start by finding out why it is not starting, [so fuel or no spark] then you can check why it is not getting one or the other, [or both].
You said fuel pump and main relay are good, so I assume you can hear the fuel pump prime the fuel system, [run for a few sec.] when ign. switch is turned to the run position, is that correct?
Did you test for power at the injectors when ign. switch is in run position, the main relay, [PGM-FI Main Relay] supplies power to the injectors also? 94
