So when and where exactly did it take place? How was it stolen? What theft deterrents did he have in place?

Apparently the car isn't all stock if it's a '97 ITR converted to look like a '98 spec. I hope all turns out well.

Very sorry to hear, especially with a '97....sucks these inbred pieces of **** have no regard for other's property.
Hope she's recovered in rebuildable condition.

Not to be a picky, but I'm working on an ITR Registry and this confuses me slightly. Was the badge # "-00517" or was the engine #4300517? Reason I ask is that we previous thought to have confirmed the highest badge # as 512 or 514. 517 which is close...is still higher than expected.
I really appreciate any help on this. Would you be able to get the VIN as well? I routinely have people check ITR VINs with me to see if they're stolen. Would be good to have a record of this.

What's the point in knowing if there was an alarm? All you will do is give him hell on not having one if he didnt, which is not the point of the thread. If a thief wants it, he/she will take it. Best of luck find that R, and god have mercy on the thief if you guys find him/her.

No we would actually like to know what precautions were taken in this particular instance. so that way, we know to stay away from those types of deterents or to go a step further. thanks

Not from what I have seen...people will just go on to say thats what you get for not garaging/daily driving/not having XXX security in place.

Any word on the car yet? Can't imagine what your buddy is feeling right now...

Similar thread here Joe (http://forums.nwp4life.com/zerothread?id=7666). I asked the same question...he took it the wrong way I guess.

As much as I hate beating the dead horse that comment that pops up at least once in each thread doesn't help the mentality of taking necessary measures to safeguard your car.

Last night was a mission....found OTHER stolen cars around COMMERCIAL AVE in san jose including what was left of a 99 civic si coupe that had been set on fire by thieves!!! Cop told us good hotspots but no luck.

Its a stupid question and if he wanted to let you know then he would told us. You shouldn't be worried about what other people have for security. We all know what we have to do to keep our R safe, but having the money to do it is another thing. Back to the topic, I hope you guys find the ****ers, and god have mercy on them if you do...
