94 del dol stripped bolt issue/clutch swap
So I am new to this forum so hey, nice to be here. I love hondas even though I am a jeep guy when it comes to DD's. I do roll on a honda ATC that has seen its far share of abuse during my motorsports days.
I am helping my neighbor do a clutch swap on his 94 del sol. We got it all back together and the upper MTX mounting bolt that threads into the motor has stripped the threads in the block. CRAP! This has never happened to me before, I threaded the bolt in all the way by hand but it would not torque to 61 ft/lbs and then we realized after undoing the bolt that it had ruined the threads inside the block. My question is can we just leave it that way since there are a lot more bolts that mount the trans on? Do we have to unbolt the trans, chase the threads with a tap and then use a new, different bolt? What would you do? The owner of the car doesn't even care and it's weird cause I'm pissed about it.

Yeah just a bell housing bolt. Didn't know the exact lingo. So many parts and bolts. Yeah I knew what we were supposed to do, just trying to see if we could avoid it since its not really my car and its kinda beat. Thanks guys.
