Default clear coat on fogs??

i bought a set of oem raybrig 00 si foglights, i've painted them yellow with the VANS lens paint but i'm wondering if i should lay down a layer of clear coat to give it a little xtra protection against chipping n stuff like that, Is it safe to use a clear coat on that type of paint?? n how many layers should I put down??

I would leave it as so only paint it with the can... It's made for the light to go through if u put clear I would assume u will block the flow of light since the clear it getting it's not meant for light to go though
