whats up guys?

OK, im going to check out an 89 accord for my mom, but i dotn know much about them.

89 accord, 5spd, 154k, overall good condition.

Now are there any common problems with these cars?? Im basicllylooking for something to bargain with or look out for. ANY info would be greatly appreciated.

kick the tires, drive it around, feel it up, check for oil stains, check oil, check temp, drive it around some more, check to make sure all features work, everythign, all windows, a/c, heater. Dont forget to kick the tires....

Does it say LXi on the back? I'd prefer to get a fuel injected version. (BTW, that's what the "i" means)

 

Drive it and check for any leaks.These are very reliable cars.Change the fluids. And yes an LXi would be the most desireable model.LX is good ,DX doesn't have many options.

 

LXi would be the only 3Gee i'd mess with.

one thing to look out for is leaky fuel injectors.. my 1986 LX-i burned to the ground due to them.

 

if its an LXi, make sure the fuel injectors are not leaking like crazy, make sure the routine maintenence was performed (timing belt, water pump are the biggies) and that bitch will run 4-eve-R.
