could an obd1 engine harness work on an obd2 engine? Or should I say would it plug-in?

 

It will not plug into the alternator, distributer, and into the wiring harness behind the dash (plugs that come out on the driverside under the hood). You're better off locating the correct harness to save you the hassle.
