car starts that turns right off????
i can start my car and as soon as the key goes back to the accessory car just dies... but if i hold it down in the start position constantly the car will stay running i can rev it up but as soon as i disengage the starter it dies... i noticed that when in accessory none of the gauge lights work such as the oil light doesnt come on as soon as its in accessory mode so im wondering if its a relay or switch any fedback is appreciated thanks
It's the switch. Jumping it you're running way more current through wires, fuses, and contacts that weren't meant to see that amount. If you're lucky you'll only pop a fuse. If you jiggle the key in the "on" position do you get anything at all? A check you can do is take the steering column covers off, and inspect the switch solder joints. Look for discoloration in solder & white plastic. Look for melted or distorted plastic black or white. It's actually a fairly common failure on certain Hondas.

yea when the key is in on accessory the car wont beep when doors open no gauge cluster lights until i try to start it.... how do i bypass to make sure its the prob
so i took one out of a teg and changed it and still same thing... when you put the key just right in between accessory and starting it the gague cluster will come on the heat works and everything but soon as you put it in the start position the guauge cluster goes away. any other ideas or is this switch bad too
get a test light see which wire has 12v when you turn the key forward once then see what wire has 12v when u barely hold the key forward when the lights on the dash light up then jump the two togther

The gauges & instrument lights only come on in "on" not accessory.

0=lock/off, 1=accessory, 2=on/run, 3=start.
0: nothing's on (hazards, outside lights, dome light always have power)
1: radio, clock, lighter powered
2: gauges, indicators, turn signals, wipers/washers, power windows, HVAC, fuel pump are powered along with radio, clock, lighter (1)
3: radio, clock, lighter (1), and HVAC don't have power; gauges, indicators, turn signals, fuel pump, starter powered
Everything's off in 0 (lock)right?
Radio, clock, & lighter work in 1 (accessory) right?
Nothing works in 2 (on/run) right?
The starter cranks in 3 (start) right, or did before you put in integra switch?
If you hold key somewhat forward toward 3 but still in 2 then the gauges & everything works? If you start the car and hold the key forward in 2, but not in 3 so the starter does not stay engaged (you can burn up the starter real quick if it is kept engaged while the engine is running and revving), will it keep running? If so, yes the switch is bad.
There is only one wire that supplies power to the ignition switch, so it's not a fuse if anything works in any of the positions. If you have nothing in position 2 (on/run) then there is only one possible cause, a bad ignition switch.
[QUOTE=honda_luvr_2000;42395352]The car isn't supposed to run in accessory, only radio, clock, & lighter have power in accessory.

usually when i put the key in push forward 1 the oil light comes in and goes off after couple seconds before it did atleast now it dosent

That's weird. It should only come on with the rest of the gauge cluster. You may have a much bigger issue if that's happening, like wiring was messed with, rerun, or something. Maybe an aftermarket alarm and/or remote start either installed wrong or faulty, or was installed and later improperly removed.
I am having this sameeeee problem I heard it's very common with egs. I've changed the dizzy and main relay. Still doing it I kno what u mean with the lights an they don't come on. Has to be the ignition switch only other solution. It's boggling my mind so bad. Somebody told me how to wire it on my post. I'll put a link but this definitely sucks big big donkey d••k
What is the MM&Y of the car?
Standard or automatic?
Are there any mods, anything added, [alarm, remote start, turbo timer or any electrical]?
It sure sounds like an ign. switch problem, here is a good DIY, test and repair or replace... http://techauto.awardspace.com/ignitionswitch.html 94

make, model, trim and then u can look up the ign swicth pin out I think there is two pos feed coming in
check to make sure u are getting 12v then check the ign swicth for continuity based on the swicth pin out and swicth on off location
sounds like a swicth problem or blown fuse
