turboed civic burns oil

Icon2 turboed civic burns oil

so when my car is at idle it has a slight puff to it but when i bearly rev it smoke just comes out. my motor is a d16z6 rebuild has about 8000 miles on it so my rings are good. if anyone has any idea as to what the deal is please help me out and no it wasnt smoking before i turboed it

How old is the turbo? Sounds like the oil seals are going bad. Have you done a compression test or leakdown test to be POSITIVE its not a ring or valve seal? Are you getting any blow by?

i need to replace my valve seals but the turbo is cheap and yeasterday the actual turbo was smoking in from the exhuast side and its be turboed but it started this this weekend when i put on a new manifold

Get yourself a better turbo, whether it be new or used, get a different one.

thanks i got a question how good would a t3t04e garrett be with a 57 trim and a 0.63 ar turbine for about 300whp. this turbo is bull and takes foooooorever to spool and its a t3t04e

i know i should but before i spend the money i want to make sure its the problem its been turboed for about a month in a half it didnt smoke then but in the past week it started and now its just ridiculous i burnt and quart of freash royal purple in a week

Well, diagnose the problem (or pay somebody else to) as opposed to just throwing parts at it and hoping it fixes the problem.

One of your earlier posts said that you need to replace your valve seals AND that the turbo itself was smoking...it MAY be both.

If he fried a ring lanD then he would start getting blowby and in return would also have a weak or "dead" hole. A compression test would reveal this rather quickly.

yea that was why it was burning oil and it does it at idle i think i melted the seals when i was welding my new down pipe up

To be safe id get new like brand new rings. and a diff turbo that ones cheap and not to great soundind.
