it use to sound more bassy and deep.


my first cheap option is an exhaust tip with a silencer

my second option after that "when i get more money"is a deep tone test pipe OR

would i be better off getting a cat back exhaust. i want a deep muffled sound


im wondering if that no matter what i do its still going to sound like farts cause of the header

like high pitched continous fart? Deep loose fart sound? Ricer-ish?
What exhaust is on it now?
What size piping if aftermarket?

 

$100 header = cheap materials + thin walls = crap sound

not sure what a deep tone test pipe is, every time I've ever added a test pipe it sound even more raspy

 

If you want a deep sound get a V-8.

if its the header. would that heat tape stop some of the bad noise?

it sounds like a tin can getting drug down a gravel road , really high pitched sounding.

I had a custom 2.5" stainless pipe with an Apexi WS2, it sounded relatively decent

 

man thats alot of dough for just a decent sound, it should sound like an angel for 500 bones.

alright. im going to start with a new tip, and see how that improves, then i think all im going to be able to afford is the resignator , then i gotta save for my new engine.

i looked up some vids on you tube and they sound really good :D only like $300

 

same exhaust i have on my 97, it sounds decent without the silencer but loud as hell.. with the silencer its somewhat quieter but sounds horrible

 

You could get a megan or dc header for that price.. What's the name brand? Maybe there's a gasket missing or some kind of loose or not connecting part.. maybe in the down pipe.... Check the entire exhaust system.should only take you about 10 minutes..

 

Weld in a glass pack before your muffler and your high pitch/fart sound issue will be resolved.
