steering column swap?
unbolt it from the steering shaft, unplug the connections for the signals, ignition and etc on the column and remove the two bolts and two that hold the steering column in place . thats about it. also, swap the steering column covers cuz the civic's are different from the crx .

Do you mean the tumbler portion of ignition switch is broken? If so you can just fix that part. The tumbler on my EF hatch broke a few months ago and I went down to my local locksmith to see what could be done because I wanted to retain the use of the same key to turn on the car and open all the doors/hatch. The locksmith removed the ignition switch from the steering column on my car and disassembled it. He used a good spare tumbler housing
and transferred the internals from my tumbler to the new housing. Worked out great and he charged me $60 for the whole thing. Just a suggestion so that you can retain the same key for all your locks.
