Default Header Heat Shield, Leave it off?

Lately in a lot of pictures of people's swaps I've noticed that you can see their headers. When you put on an aftermarket header do you normally put that heat shield back on?

Only if you need em. As people said, most aftermarket didnt come with mounts. You can also use a header wrap if you really need to protect surrounding parts from heat.

yeah but if you have a stock header then leave it on. you'll notice your car will run a lot cooler. it really does make a difference.

i was gonna say...using the heat shield on a stock exhaust keeps the engine bay a good bit cooler...

I would leave it off if its aftermarket but if you are worried about heat I would wrap it with a heat wrap. Keeps wondering heat to a min. Specially if you are running a short ram intake. But heat wrap doesnt look as good as a chrome or ceramic header But heat wrap is always a good idea. My 2cents
