Default Putting alarm in passive mode to arm turbo timer?

I just talked to the guys at Inline Pro (shop in northern Va for those who dont know) about installing a turbo timer for me. The guy said that most likely, I would have to put my alarm in passive mode for the turbo timer to function correctly? What does this mean? I have the Viper system, can it be put into passive mode?

Passive mode is not gonan work.. ur car will just unlock while the engine shut off.. You cannot arm a car when the ignition is on. YOu have to make a relay to make the alarm think that the car is off. and that way you can arm your car.. Or what you can do is not have a Starter Kill.

nope you dont need to do all that all you have to do is move your yellow ign wire from the alarm to the accsory wire and it will arm and lock with your car running on the turbo timer

no thats not true , you missunder stood what i was saying it will lock the doors when he turns on the car just like half a second later the ignition wire will get 12v when the car is started and the acc wire gets 12v it will start lock right up you have to use the starter kill yellow wire to true ingnition and the yellow wire comming off the alarm brain would be the wire going to acc

When you istall aturbo timer you need to bypass sensors on the alarm (ie: impact, current sensing), most current Viper alarms can be programmed for this or a good install facility can do it for you without having to put your car in passive mode. Not all installers are equal look for one with at least a few years experience with the products that you use.
