what is this???

i bought an oil pressure gauge and im wondering if i can take out the bolt thats circled on the left, and what is the sensor circled on the right?

so i can just replace the factory oil pressure sender with the one i got with my oil pressure gauge? and from there im gonna presume i splice the gauge wire into the wire harness??
