i just bought a 02 civic ex 2 door. i want a good sound system but im not sure what to get. can someone help me out on what to get?

i want a good quality system my budget is $500. i want a system that i can upgrade little by little. so im not looking for the best of the best brands. as long as it sounds good.

500 won't get u crap.

from all the setups i've pieced together, you'll need atleast 7-800 for entry level stuff.

 

what exactly do you want? subs,amps, speakers,deck? if so keep saving

If just deck and speakers 500 is doable with some pretty good stuff.

 

i'd start off with an amp and sub for NOW.. hit up craigslist in your area and see what you can find. $500 is a good start

 

For 500 bux u can build a 140 plus db set up ..... Craigslist and some knowledge goes along way

that 500 alone would go to electrical upgrades to support that 140db setup.

 

alpine deck 9885~$120. JL 500/1 amp ~200. and eclipse 12" aluminum~$150-200. was good enough for me..

Upgrade the HU first.
Look at Alpine or Clarion.

 

I used to compete heavily years ago and I actualy set a state record for 0-24" class that held for 2yrs @ 154.5db

Things have changed a lot over the years but I just helped a friend build a 143.8 db system for around 600 bux ....... He took 2nd place in his class 2 weeks ago 3rd place had over 5k in his set up and only hit 142.9

My friends system consited of alpine 9886 (100 craigslist) 2 jl audio older. 12w3's in a slot ported box (craigslist also 175) old school linear power amp (80 at a garage sale lol ) amp kit and upgraded rca's (100 local car stero store) tma jl's entry level speakers 6 1/2 and 6x9 (125 local car stereo shop) old *** hell alpine 4 channel amp (20 bux ) so 600 bux to hit 143.8db and he was worried to turn up the gain because the subs are kinda old .......
