Hey all, my moms prelude has the stock external coil, unfortunately, when i worked on it today, i just took off the coil wire and the plastic on the coil itself, where the coil wire would plug onto, kinda broke into fragmented pieces(i guess brittle from the engine heat). i priced a new oem coil and its like almost $100, my question is, can i put in a regular msd external blaster coil? i looked at the plug on the oem coil and theirs 3 wires and the msd coil just has the + and - on the coil, can anyone help me to get thisd to work, Thanks......

 

on msds website it gives you full shematics of how to wire them

 

The two big wires go on the positive and small wire on negative

do NOT use the MSD blaster Coils unless your using a MSD ignition box. Trust me, you'll burn out the Ignitor in the distributor. Buy a New HONDA Coil. or FAIL

 

or grab one from a junk yard

 

I just removed all my msd stuff the other day. the sci box failed and I was gonna sell the coil to someone on the 3rd gen forum. I guess I wont do that cause I dont want anyone to burn the ignitor out just so i can make 20.00
