Accidently cut a power wire behind the radio.
Now my headunit, remote key, and cluster lights don't work. the unlockdoor switch only works when the car is on.
At first I didn't know what I did, but I looked closely behind the radio, and I found a cut black wire.
this isn't a picture of my car, but the wire is grounded to that silver piece I circled.

I can't find the other end of the cut wire. so does anybody know where this wire came from? I'll take a picture once I get a hold of a camera.
my car is 2004. Thanks in advance.

What exactly where you doing?
Its most likely a fuse. The wire you are mentioning may never have been attached to anything.
I was changing my stereo once and blew a fuse and you are having the same symptoms I had. Check both fuse boxes the one in the car and under the hood. Its a tedious process, but you need to check all fuses. The fuses/wiring are all attached within the harness, so if one fuse blows, it messes with multiple things.
Also, you say the wire you found cut was grounded, but you think it had power? This is not possible.. power wires are never grounded, but connected to the battery. Only ground wires are... grounded. :]

but i was taking out my aftermarket stereo and putting my stock one. i was half-***'ing it and i just forced the console in [ya, big mistake]. so i take a look, and i see this cut wire just hanging in there..
how will i know if the fuse is blown or not?
Its probably just a fuse.. The black wire was most likely a ground since it was connected to the metal, as shown in your picture. This may have been the ground from the radio to the car. I would check that if you plan on having a working radio.
i'll check the fuses in the morning and go from there. thanks for help!
