which coilovers should i get for my 94 eg hatch?
im sorry if this has been covered a million times, i dont have time to weed through every thread. And im also new to honda-tech so if this is in the wrong section please let me know.
Im buying a 94 civic hatch dx tomorrow, and want some adjustable coilovers for it. Im not looking to spend too much, so what are some good adjustable coilovers at a reasonable price? Looking to go low but not SLAMMED. thanks

I would recommend Form and Function Type 1. You can get them for $630 shipped with free LCAs from wek'sos and they are height adjustable and very well built. You can go pretty low with these. I just got mine recently and I am going to install them sunday. I hear these ride like sex and are really good for the street with the occasional track day.
Nothing but good reviews on these.

For the money and quality and from experience. I would much rather chose the F&F's. They're overall the same quality and F&F's are much cheaper brand new.
they are alot cheaper and i have heard good things about them but you also want good tech support form the company, i bought some teins and have sent them in twice to be fixed for free with no ?'s asked... also you have to decide what kind of drivin you will be doning...
this will be for pretty basic everyday driving. The engine is stock for now so its just gonna be daily driver status. When you guys recommend certain ones can you give me a rough estimate of the prices? thanks again guys for all the input
to be toally honest, have you looked at a shock and spring combo.. if its just a daily than that might be better... coils take alot of adjusting to get right and if your only lookin for a better ride and a lil drop the spring shock combo might be better... i race scca and almost all the guys who race their dailys swear by the shock spring combo.... just something to think about

10k 6k spring rates are pretty good for the street. They are designed with daily driving in mind with the occasional track day. Theres no reason to dish out $1000 on suspension for daily driving you know?
The Type One Coil-Over is a full bodied coil-over, with simplicity in mind. We set the dampening characteristics for you, and also chose less aggressive spring rates to match the fixed dampening. But what we did not change was the durability, quality, smooth ride, and lowering characteristics we are known for. Continuing with our belief that quality can be affordable, we priced the Type One suspension to fit the financially conscious tuner's budget. We recommed for the Type One product line for anybody that wants to enjoy performance, quality and great looks in a simplistic way. Install, set your height, and you are ready to roll...!
Dont let simplicity fool you. The Type One Suspension System is consturcted with the same materials as our Type Two systems. Same approach and philosophy in construction and strength. Our main goal is to give you a peace of mind when commuting, or crusing in the weekend.
Adjustable Ride Height
Dampening pre-set for optimal ride quality during spirited driving.
Adjustable from lower mount, which allows user to retain full shock travel and pre-load adjustments.
Dual Tube shock design for maximum ride comfort and durability.
Steel construction of lower mounts for increased durability and minimal flex under load.
One Year Limited Warranty
yeah i've been considering both, my only reason for wanting adjustable is to determine how low i can go with still driving comfortably. When adjusting the coilovers, do they require you to take the wheels off to do so? how hard is it to get it properly adjusted?
These are adjusted at the lower perch. Which means that no matter the height, you still keep the same shock travel. You dont loose stroke so your ride is always the same. Yeah if youre lower its going to handle differently and firmer but thats just because the center of gravity is now lower. You can do as low as you can and still have the same ride comfort. I don't think you need to take the wheel off to adjust it. I am installing them Sunday.
the f&f seem great and yes you can adjust them with the tires on... its a pain in the *** to adjust them.. or any coilover! your best bet is to put all of them as far to the top as possible and turn your steering wheel left as far as it goes...then start turning the coil down... do about five or so full turns and then drop the car down and see if it rubs the tire thats stickin out...keep a count of how many full turns you do and then repeat on each side... if you want to do a really good job than you can find a shop that corner balances and have them balance each corner so the weight is even.. but beware if you go too low with out an allighnment then your tires will suffer and your cornering could be worse because the tires will not sit right on the road.. if you want it super low than you might want to look into having your fenders rolled a lil
Wow, forum and functions are only $360 for full coilovers? That's a good deal. I just got my koni yellows today to use with my tein s techs (for now, until I get GCs). I'll let you know how it is when I put them on next year.
yeah i was lowered on H&R springs on my 2004 Golf TDI so I know that i have to sacrifice my ride quality a little bit, but im used to it!
