Default Oil light on and wont turn off. 01 GSR

So last friday I just finished replacing my flywheel, clutch, clutch master and slave cylinders and rear main seal along with a oil change.

Everything felt good all friday, ran strong with no problems.

Then saterday morning as I was driving to my girlfriends house, my oil light turns on. I pull over to the side of the road, let it sit for about a minute then checked my oil. Oil was fresh and at the full indicator. So I disconnect and reconnect the oil pressure sensor, start it up and still the light is on. Wait a few minutes start it again and I can here my valves clicking a little louder than usual thinking I probably have low oil pressure. So I buy 20w-50 oil and a bottle of oil additive and do a oil change at the gas station I was able to coast into to see if the thicker oil would raise my oil pressure enough to get home.

Start it up after the oil and filter change and still the light is on.

What do you guys think can be the problem? What are the symptoms of a oil pump going bad or if it can be clogged?

Thanks in advance.

that sounds like a bad oil pump to me, i wouldnt drive it at all, i think someone else on the forum had a problem like this with the oil light and ended up having a cracked crankshaft i think, pretty sure it ended up ruining the motor due to oil starvation

I would get an oil pressure gauge and check the oil pressure,I would not drive the car and only run it to check the pressure.
Good luck.

$5 says it has something to do with the rear main seal, might be a leak and oil preasure is affected, swapping the oil pump is a pain, so make sure you narrow it down to the pump before you go there, although if it is the oil pump you can spin a rod bearing very fast and easy do to oil starvation, try reseting the ecu and see if the light goes away idk worth a try, and if you get a new oil pump please get a new oem one not a rebuilt ebay pump! you will be in the same boat soon if you do! gl

I was told if the rear main seal was leaking, it would a very big puddle of oil, not a drop here drop there. I just bought a new oil pressure sensor so im going to put that in and see if the light goes away. Its a $8 dollar sensor so i just said why not, if the light goes away great, if not it was only $8 dollars. Thanks for the input guys.
