Default B18c1 oil stick tube loose

The tube that holds my oil dip stick is loose and can be easily wiggled off the block. there's gotta be a way to fix it back on to the motor so it doesn't come loose. My oil level has been burning away faster than before because I think some of the oil is leaking for it. might even contribute to the why i am getting 21 mpg mixed highway/city.

does anyone know what I can do fix this? thanks

Remove it and find a tool to try and expand the bottom of it a little. That's what I would do...
And I don't think that's your low MPG problem.

This is a VERY common problem. Might be able to do it without taking headers off. I did mine first with copper silicone but it eventually came loose. Second time around I pulled headers out of the way, cleaned up the area, and jb-welded it. It has held up great for months with not a single drop gone or loosness. If you dont want to jb weld you can go to a dealer a get the new tube which actually has a larger base so that it doesnt come loose. Hope this helps.

This is the route I would take. It's down out of sight so it's not like it's an eye sore. Plus you have that extra piece of mind knowing it won't come loose again.

i think i am going to go the JBweld route. do you guys put the JB weld on the mating surface of the tube, then stick it in the hole?

or do you stick it in the hole, then put the JB weld around it on the outside the same way you apply caulk to shower corners?

I would just clean the surfaces up and stick it in. Then apply the jb weld around the outside of the tube. I'm fairly sure the OEM ones are just pressed in, so I wouldn't put anything in the passage itself.
