my car smokes alot when i first start it for like 3 blocks then stops. i have a 98 civic hx i think it has the vtec-type e or whatever, im wondering if i should swap it out to a ls motor out of a 2000 i have the engine and ecu i dont know if i can still use my harness? but im wondering if its worth rebuilding at all?

i had it priced the shop closest to my house wants over a thousand dollars to swap! thats wayyyy to much

 

ttt, should i just buy a new head and have the seals replaced?

 

buying the head and replacing it would be cheaper.however, it may not be the head that is causing the smoke issue. could be the rings. but i'm just guessing on that. you might even fix it with a valve job and new head gasket
