so i decided to buy an oem-style carbon fiber hood. not sure which brand to go with. i know ebay are junk. nrg? vis? seibon? i was leanin towards seibon, are they the best brand out there? any input and positive/negative feedback on certain brands?

Ive heard good things about each company. I own a Seibon carbon CTR style grill on my ek and I take my ek everywhere (daily drive) and theres little to no damage to it.

I know some ppl that have VIS carbon lips, and hoods and they don't complain about there products same with NRG.

Personaly I havn't heard of any problems with all three just depends on if you take care of it. I go with with either one and what ever one you find for cheaper :p

yeah, itll be a daily driver. i got quotes on nrg 460 shipped and seibon 485, i had always thought seibon was top-of-line, so 25 bucks more, meh why not. but nrg is a pretty reliable company too.

 

someone had told me they had a vis hood, and it faded and clear chipped away after 2 years. so idk how good vis really is, unless that was just a bad scenario.

 

just got a DEAL on a seibon hood, so i ordered, we'll see how that works i guess.

 

What is required to maintain a CF hood? How much do the good ones go for? I am considering one, but want good fitment and don't want to have to worry about alignment issues.

 

my boy got a siebon hood and trunk for his DA and on delivery he couldnt sign untill he thuroughly checked each product out. +1 for that. and he had it through winter. and it still mint and sexi. he has had it for about 6 months now. and it still looks new. and i dont think he does much besides just wash and wax the car. so nothing uber special.

 

seibon/vis/nrg. all good brands. ive always been under the influence seibon was top of the line. ill sent you a pm concerning pricing.

 

All 3 of the VIS hoods I've owned have held up very well.

 

VIS is good same with seibon....i got a hood for a buddy here

a good thing to do when you FIRST buy your cf hood, is take it to a paint shop to get it clear coated, polished, and waxed again

 

never had to do that to my vis hood, and 5-6 years laters it still looks good. i just wash and wax it just like any other hood.

 

woah now, 3 different cars i hope? cuz if your onto your 3rd hood for the same car, thats lookin bad towards vis, lol.
