What kinda Engine Harness do i USE?
I'm doing a B series swap in my 96 Civic Coupe DX. And was wondering what kinda Engine Harness should i use? And which one will work? Its a B Series VTEC?
use your factory one and wire vtec. (i have a vtec subharness for sale) just plug it in and put the pins in the ecu. pm if you want it $20shpd
You seem very confused...I'll break this down.
96-00 civics use a one piece engine harness that goes from the engine straight to the ecu. A B series vtec motor has all of the normal sensors along with a vtec pressure switch, vtec solenoid and a knock sensor. All of these commodities can be accommodated for with a 96-00 civic ex harness. You stated that your car is a 1996 civic dx, automatic at that. It is possible to use your stock harness but you will have to do the IACV 3 wire to 2 wire fix, add 2 wires for vtec and add knock sensor wiring....or you could just use a 96-98 civic ex engine harness.
To use an OBD1 ecu you will need a stepdown harness that plugs into the existing obd2 engine harness, making the obd1 ecu compatible.
