is it 3 thousandths of an inch (thats what you typed) or is it 30 thousandths of an inch (what you may have meant to type) ?

if the former thats nothing. The mugen gasket is two layer, I assume.

I hope you have at least upgraded with Toda valvesprings.

All said and done, you have more than enough clearance for +15 crankshaft degrees @ intake cam and -18 degrees @ exhaust cam.

Yes .003" (3 thousandths).... basically just decked for warpage. (man I would hate to find out what the static CR is with my set-up AND .030" off the head!!!)

3 layer Mugen gasket.

Yes a full set of Toda valve springs and some ti retainers.

Thanks

I've used 30 thous off a b16a head and spec Cs with P30 pistons and still cleared with +-8 degrees.

I think .030" would put me somewhere near 13:1 on static compression! I'm pretty satisfied with 11.8:1 and running 100 octane.

Thanks for the input...

What did the cc come out to on the motor you described? I bet it ends up with a decent broad power band

I calculated that .040" would be almost a full point on my motor.... then again I was using an online calculator... but its really a mute point.

Since were on the topic.... what do u think the clearance would be like on a B16 head thats milled to say .030-.040 with ferrea .5 oversized intake and exhaust valves.... the pistons that are being used are arias 12.5-13.0 compression.... i would love to use jun 3's but im more concerned with clearance issues... many are telling me that ctr cams is the best with my set up?... what are ur thoughts on cam choice or clearance issues?....
