N/A Heads: Toda C's in B18C1 with JDM Slugs
I'm upgrading from a CTR cam to a Spec C. I am concearned about interference and before I get all into the math I thought I would see if anyone has any experience with a set-up similar to mine.
B18C1
-head decked @ .003" from stock
-stock valves
-JDM ITR pistons
-Mugen Gasket
-Toda Spec C's measured at 12.5mm lift @ 0
Thanks in advance.

I have not and was hoping that I wouldn't have to.... thus my question.
I've checked with a few sources and it sounds like I'll have room. Knowing me I won't trust any of this and end up measuring everything out myself.
Ausmith - who wonders why he posts questions like this.

According to all my lit that I have on Toda and talking with them you need to run there pistons. There is not enough clearence on the CTR pistons...... But then again they want to sell you pistons.

wait a minute, didn't SgT run Spec C's and CTR pistons? Check out his website and look at the 1997 ITR in his tuning section (that's his car, I think) and look at the older set-up...

If I didn't live in Canada, I'd have him tune my chit...

I fooled with some math on the airplane today and I 99.9% sure I won't have any problems running the C's in my motor.
SgT, you're up in Toronto sometimes? Man, if we can coordinate something over the winter I'd love to have you tune my ECU. I'll drop you a line once my rebuild is nearer to completion.

.003" (27.5) = .0825mm - .35mm thinner gasket is an effective
.4325 removed total. spec Cs? what CR do you think you are going
to need and why wouldnt you clay the engine if you are making
the investment in running those cams?
"I was talking to someone I know and there will be enough"
the only way you will know is if you can see for sure. dont miss a shift!
skunk2 even doesnt reccomend more than a 2 layer gasket for the
spec 2 cams! be sure man, thats all... just be 100% sure.
