i think after seeing the first few cars go down the track i would have loaded back up on the trailer and sat in the stands to watch the fools who kept racing
...if my car was that fast

Wow that looks pretty sketchy trying to stop those things on the big end and the bumps in the track that get them bouncing just add to how dangerous that track looks to be.
I think I would have pulled out in protest of some **** like that, I mean come on look how fast these guys are running and how much money is in them to be hoping you can stop it on that short bumpy shutdown area, muchless the obvious danger.

Matt Hagan and his family own that track, as far as I know. I know other people that have ran there with Outlaw style cars and didnt have a problem. If Matt Hagan tests his car there and it runs alot fast than these cars I would say that it may not quite be the tracks problem. I live in VA and have seen this video awhile back plus I have heard people that have ran in the ADRL talk about it.
Obviously the track has a shorter shut down area, but if a car that runs 2.xx seconds in the 1/8th @ well over 200mph and is able to shut it down then.............
If I am not mistaken Piedmont Dragstrip in NC is about the same length as this track. I know that some of these cars have ran on that track and they shut it down on that one......

did you not just watch the same video we did the bouncing causes the drivers to lose control its right there on tape I mean are you kidding me
Im just stating some stuff that I know about. If I can talk to my friend that helps crew chief on the outlaw car I will post up exactly what he said about this race. I think he was there or maybe helping with a car.
from what i could tell there was alot of sand from the sand trap getting blown down the track & that was probably making the cars hop & slide.
The cars are bouncing because they are hitting the brakes hard on a 36" tall slick. Those slicks are giant air springs.
That video is two years old.
A top fuel car is only 2100 lbs. These cars are still going 200 mph to the 1/8 mile, but weigh a lot more. Takes more room to slow them down. The shut down area is too short.

Is that Shelor Motor mile in blacksburg? I use to love that track when i lived there, but they def need to extend the shut down area. My dad spent 12 years of his life building an outlaw car like that over 200k and crashed it the third time out. ****ing sucks. He has not raced since and car sits outside.
i think it would be a bigger adrenaline rush trying to stop the car than it would be accelerating down the track.
