s366 won't clear hood with topmount, will a hp6262/6765? anyone got some measurements
so i recently picked up a used full-race manifold off of a friend for my bullseye s366 to find out that it won't clear the hood. i guess the manifold is REALLLLLLY old and one of their first designs or something and thats why the turbo placement is a bit off. its a non twin scroll t4 and single wastegate manifold. after a bit of researching and whatnot i've decided to try out a precision unit. the current s366 sits about 3/4" too high for the hood to fit correctly and i'm not trying to cut a hole or anything like that, so i'm trying to figure out if a hp6262 will fit, or maybe even a hp6765. does anyone have any comparison pics or anything that i can use for reference??????
ill post up pics tomorrow hopefully....

The T04S cover is ALOT smaller then the Bullseye stuff. The 366 uses more of a GT40 sized housing i believe. The 6765 also uses a T04S housing and it should easily clear. I dont have measurements but if a T04S housing wont clear then you got probably got some weird problem somewhere. A T04S isnt a real big housing.
well thats somewhat promising. thanks for the input. any chance you could take some rough measurements?
anyone got some pics still? not really trying to shell out for another turbo just to find out it wont fit......

Just scroll and look at the pictures in this post. First turbo pictured is a S366, second turbo is a 6165 T4. Its obvious the 6165 is much smaller, quite a bit actually. The 6165 uses the same housing as the 6262 and 6765, just machined differently. All 3 use a T04S housing.
It will fit. If it doesnt you need to do something about your top mount because your gonna have to go to a ****ing 20g to get it to fit. Because even a T04E is fairly big. Its smaller then the T04S but not much smaller, not much at all (diameter wise).

well thats the thing. if i cant fit a 6262 either im gonna be better off switching manifolds.
the 366 compressor housing sits about 3/4" too high, which seems like quite a bit.

from the flange of my manifold to the top of the compressor housing (t4/t67 t04s housing) is roughly 6 1/4" hope that helps.

we did a 366 and a 6262 using full race top mounts (new style manifolds) recently....the 366 hit the hood, the 6262 S cover had plenty of clearance. both cars were EG's
did some searching a while this morning Adam. found a few different measurements looks like the 6262 or 6765 is about 2''-2 1/4'' smaller than the 366. If nothing else call slowmotion and tell Wyan or Corey to measure my compressor housing
thanks for the help paul. def appreciate it.
and jdm'in my hood is outta the question, it would need some maddddd lean to work, and i really dont wanna cut a hole. its a street car for the most part......

do the 6765 and 6262 use the same comp housing also? are they physically the same size? im leaning towards the 6262 but the 6765 isnt outta the question.
Look over our thread, the car started off with an s366 and we switched over to a 6262. The 6262 did allow for a little more clearance.

my 6765 fit perfect under my hood with a off the shelf old school lovefab topmount, i didnt have to go any cutting or spacing whatsoever, and im also running the biggest hotside made for em (.96)
you might want to get a top mount for a s372/42r that brings the turbo down a bit lower, or change the turbo, or cut a hole in the hood or jack it up in the back
They make 800whp on 6262's so unless u want 4 digits i dont see any reason for anything larger. Ive seen 920whp out of the 6765.
look for my post about the full race manifold and S366< i think I was the first person to discover this a few years ago, it will have to be cut, no 2 ways about it, or switch manifolds
Or go to an "s" compressor housing turbo, like the 35R, 67mm, 6765, 6262, etc

I'd make a little hump for it before I spent another 1000 on a turbo or manifold, that s366 is sweet turbo.
haha yeah ive been reading your old thread for some suggestions, BUT i got my trans all bolted up today, where before i had the engine leveled on a block underneath the oil pan, and the turbo dropped considerably. its still touching the hood, but im pretty sure i can make it work. the angle that the manifold places the turbo is kind of "off", so im thinking if i have the machine shop machine the t4 flange on the turbo at a really slight angle rotating towards the block and maybe machine 1/16 or 1/8 off my turbo housing, it should fit. i may also just have them machine the head flange at a realllly slight angle the same way since its really thick compared to the t4 flange.
basically, im pretty sure im good to go.
thanks for all the help and input guys
