Default why does my car idle high? does anyone know?

i drive my car or leave it on for about 10 to 15 minutes and it starts to idle kinda below 2000 rpms then i turn the car off and some overheating noise comes from where the intake goes to.this only happens when the car idles high.car does leak and burn i even put in oil.still does it.if you know why its doing it let me know and tell me how i can fix this

How high does the car idle before it's warmed up? Also, what do you mean by "some overheating noise"?

cant really explain the noise, like some hissing noise kinda how your headers would be hot and you poured water on them, kinda like that noise...but its coming from where the intake connects.last time i drove it about a mile and a half to the store and back and i popped the hood, some air shot out from where i was talking about.not sure how or why. what is iacv, and how do i check it? ,, sorry dont know alot bout cars im still in learning process
