Got scammed for a JDM ITR SRS MOMO wheel, Buyer Beware
Just thought I'd give an FYI to anyone out there who might have had similar dealings but didn't voice them with user Gourley.
Bought a JDM SRS MOMO wheel that was FUBAR but advertised as 8/10 condition with a slight gap at the airbag to wheel.

F**king shady people. How hard is it to be honest and list an item in the condition it is ACTUALLY in?
It looks like all the damage accrued during the shipping, except for the broken wire which was most likely done when he installed it.
Trending Topics
This dispute was brought to the mods' attention and after reviewing all the correspondence between the two parties, at least 3 mods all thought that the seller's story didn't add up.
Description
The description was clearly a false advertisement. That wear was no where close to being "light wear". The outer skin was completely gone.
Insurance
The item was not insured full value even though Mike M had requested it. He said that the item could not be insured. He added that if you've ever used UPS you would know that item like that could not be insured full value. (huh?)
Packaging
He said he had nothing to do with the poor packaging because the store required that the packaging to be done by them in order to qualify for additional insurance (in addition to the basic $100).
Ok now, reportedly, the store DID repackage the item (and poorly too), but where is the insurance that the buyer could claim?
Things just didn't make sense at all.... It's sad to see people failed to act like a responsible adult.

Sorry to hear Mike. Another fine example of the people we have selling used parts. Not your fault, you took all the precautions necessary to avoid this type of thing.
One more reason i shop BlueR only!

If you package it properly yourself, they shouldn't require a re-packing for insurance, but you can bet they will inspect it to make sure they aren't likely to have a claim by the time it's delivered.
UPS and FedEx both have requirements for insurance that whatever you are shipping isn't moving around and is properly padded and secured in a box.

If that was UPS's repackaging work (Wai said they repackaged it, but I didn't think they did based on what Mike said) then I'd really love to see the sellers packaging if UPS considered that to be an improvement

I'm sorry you don't understand the rating system but the higher the number is the Nicer it is, so you mean 2/10. If it was just the gap, LIKE IT WAS ADVERTISED AS, then it would be 7-8/10 but with the heavy wear on the grip that alone would make it 4-5/10 but not only was there all that BS but all the cuts and the cut wires this thing was 2/10 at best.
Address please?
That it is, I'm going to take your reccomendation on the matter.
The Seller, Gourley, gave all sorts of stories He packaged it, UPS redid it, etc etc.
I spoke to the owner of the UPS store that it was shipped from and he had the reciept on file and said that Gourley came in with the box packaged as shown in my pics and shipped it as is, they told him they would not insure it as it was packaged incorrectly (needed to be in a proper box, wrapped in bubble wrap and filled with packing material) he said to them he did not want to pay to have it repacked and insured and sent it as it was without insurance, he did not even fill in the section for what the value of the item was.

That's not what Wai said. According to Wai, the seller said that UPS wouldn't insure a used steering wheel at it's purchase price. In reality, UPS will put any level of insurance you want on anything, they just require proof of value when you make a claim, something that is easy to do (paypal receipt for example).
If that was UPS's repackaging work (Wai said they repackaged it, but I didn't think they did based on what Mike said) then I'd really love to see the sellers packaging if UPS considered that to be an improvement
