Default pics inside ,need your opinions

i had a valve snap on me. i have been trying to figure what went wrong.
The valves has about 1200 miles on it they were ferrera flat tops and were new as was the spring retainers and keepers. the retainer and springs were still in place as shown in the picture.
let me know what you guys think happened in your opinion. im kinda lost with trying to figure the cause

Not adjusted right and the head was hitting the seat too hard. Did you hear any tapping?

do you mean valve lash. they were dead on to factory specs. i was using a factory cam to break the motor in , i was getting ready to install another cam when this happened just do not want to go through this again..

the motor was not making any unusual noises

valve guides too loose, valve job not correct, maybe hit valves when assembling bending it then leading to the breakage.

thanks for your insight. i was leaning towards a defective valve or guide. i will go inspect the guide see if it's still in one piece

were you using a stock spring with the brian crower retainer? you need to check your installed height with your setup so you can see if you have enough spring pressure. the valve possibly was out of control there for causing it to break.

the piston hitting the valve will only bend it out of the way.

? Uh serious?

A piston hitting a valve will surely bend it if not break it off then cause carnage as you well see.

Valves dont just bend and get out of the way.....lol

Probably valve float, Check installed height, spring pressure, ect. What cams are you running, what springs? What are you revving it to ? That is some major carnage from dropping a valve !!! If all the other valves are ok and not bent or knicked , problem is in the head.

Need more info on your set up.
