I've been searching and some older threads mentioned that the Lower Front BallJoint on 4th gens is the same for the Rear Lower, is this true? I can't find any rear lower ball joints but i've found front lower ball joints. Doing a suspension overhaul , Thanks guys! Pirate, Mgags one of you OG's has to know if they are the same.

 

Anyone replaced their rear lower ball joint? I'd rather not buy the complete knuckle from honda and get r@ped.

 

99% sure they are the same. I have 4 new honda balljoints that are ready to go in so ill be able to tell if they fit when i press them in.

try checking the part numbers on majestic honda.

 

Majestic Honda only sells the rear Knuckle assembly =$300+. No parts suppliers sell the rear lower ball joint by itself for a 92-96 prelude. That's why I asked if the front lower's were the same Ralphezzy.

 

fyi prelude balljoints were recalled from 96-99 or something like that so u can get the balljoint kit from honda. thats what i did.

part number is 04510-sl5-000. it comes with 2 balljoints and is like 35 or so dollars. I bought 2 kits so i can see if the rears will fit.

 

iirc legend balljoints fit the rear.

 

Oh, thanks pprowler I never knew there was a recall. Let me know if those suckers fit the rear.

 

I just removed my rear lower balljoints. Put the knuckle upsidedown in a vise. I used a 27mm deep socket and a BFH, some good hits and they came out very easily. I'm going to take one to the parts store when I have time and mic check them with the front lower balljoints and confirm. Any recommendations on lower ball joint?

The local NAPA has DANA( with new c-clip/sealed) for $66.99(1)
And Orielly's has MOOG sealed for $33(1)

Just installed front Moog lower ball joints into my rear knuckle. They are the same.
