I've been into Honda/Acura's for right about 15 years now. And like many here I've always wanted a Type R.

I finally was able to get a hold of one about 2 years ago. (Salavaged one) But now my family is growing and I must now sell my car.

My dilemma is that now it seems that I can not get anyone to give me a reasonable offer for it. I've tried selling it stock, or turbocharged.

I have people offer me 5k, 4K, even 3k for it. - And it bothers me :/ - The car has never been crashed. The motor, tranny, wheels, and interior was taken off when stolen. I replaced everything back to stock and even at that people still low ball me. The car is super clean and it runs perfect.

So can anyone tell me if in reality my car is not worth anything over 5k, or I'm I just dealing with broke youngsters? Here are some pictures of my car.

 

Although she looks nice, without her histoRy such as mileage, engine work, etc. it would hard to place a value on it... (Other than emotional!)

Action Clutch - Turbo Heavy Duty Clutch - I also have the stock one.

I have other extras like Spoon Steering wheel, Beaks Lower Tie Bar, etc.

 

Can you give us more info on the car?

What year is she?
How many miles on the chassis? How many on the motor?
Did you replace the engine with a B18C5, or something else like a B18C/B18C1?
Is there anything else wrong with it?
Do you have more pictures of the engine bay or interior?

Stuff like that will help us figure out the actual value.

 

Judging by the mods and the pics it should still sell in the 8-9k range

Miles on motor is about 89k - Chasis I don't know.

Motor was replaced with a B18C

Car has little knicks here are there. But nothing major. For example the antenna doesn't go up and down, but it works, it is just not connected right.

The light in the trunk wont turn on. Its probably blown.

 

How much are you looking to get for it...i might just buy it

 

I have it listed for $11k or best offer. If you don't low ball me, I'll throw in a pair of WELD Wheels on 23" M&H Tires and I'll be willing to drive somewhere so you don't have to make the full trip. Heck, I have a trailer and I can deliver for a small fee lol

hmm..it looks super CLEAN..but with a Salvaged titled and even with all the WORK you put into your caR, i said $9-10k should be a good BUY! DO not listen to those BROKE @SS RICER! COME ON i seen ITR shells listed for $6,000..haha...all around it is still a ITR but if you looking to get more then $11k for it GOOD LUCK! i paid just a little more then what your asking for and my ITR came with only 63k and a CLEAN TITLE!! GL WITH THE SALE!!

 

That's what I was thinking. Especially to the moron that said "I am difinately interested in your car, I have $3000 CASH" LOL I would have punched him if he was in front of me. You can't even buy a swap for that..... WTF

So true..... I pamper this R as much as I can and I haven't stopped adding things that it needs as I go. F*ck thieves. I got me a Doberman and a .9 Glock for them

 

I think 11k is too high, i have one locally with 29k miles with JDM front end for $15k

 

It might be a bit too much, but that is why I give a better offer option. If I started low, I would end up getting $2000 dollar offers.

I am already at $5800 if you where to try and put that into a hatch back. Now add up all the other extras. Heck, I might as well part it out. lol - No one realizes what they dump in a car little by little.

 

I would pay $8k - $10K for it. Really Clean car and dont take anything lower than $8k for it.

 

I got my salvaged '97 for 10k. I think your price is pretty much spot-on.

Maybe take off the turbo kit and sell that separately. Closer to stock it is, the better bites you'll get IMO.

 

I've heard that too. (Selling it stock) But then again I don't want to dump anymore money on it trying to put the AC back on, and having to re-do the piping.

 

^^^still think it would be a good investment to bring it back to NA! There arnt too many people looking for a boosted R! I think itd sell faster NA!
