Icon2 97 Accord Suspension Opinions

Hey all, I'm looking into upgrading from my beaten and bruised stock suspension [105,000m]

I'm not really looking for a drop, just a spring/shock combination that performs well.

Currently looking into this Skunk2 cupkit

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

My only reservation is that I have brand new stock tires [185/65/15], and wonder if the 1.75'' drop will cause rubbing with a load in the back.

If anybody has alternative suggestions, feel free

Thanks

Nope, not slow....just has been asked a million times.

Lowering your car will make it ride a bit more rough, and the Skunk2 are pretty rough from what i've heard.

hey, well i know you were looking for spring/shock combo, and from experience i loved the ground control and koni combo, but that's the best spring/shock combo imo. But if you want something at a pretty decent price, i have been driving daily on Function Form coilovers for about 5k miles and they are pretty smooth. they're not gonna be as comfortable as stock. i dont think anything is, but they are pretty damn good. they lower your car like crazy, but you can just adjust them to stock height if you choose. just my 2 cents hope that helps... OH btw.. skunk2.. cup kit.. a few of my friends have been disappointed.. they blew out pretty quick. just sayin

Thank you, I'll look into the other possibilities for sure then.

After a little searching I've decided on the springs I want,

H&R OE Sport Springs [coming from VW I have much faith in H&R]

.75'' drop front & rear

Tokico Blue Struts most likely, the price is the main factor VS the illuminas.

Anyone try a setup similar to this or either of these items? I searched and read through the suspension thread with setups & pictures to no avail

*also, can anybody point me in the direction of strut mounts? or what I need to replace when installing the suspension

You shouldn't need to replace anything when you upgrade your suspension, although it would be a good time to.

More than likely, your rear bushings at the bottom of your rear struts are going to be a pain in the butt to get out (especially if you live in areas that get snow). So make sure you have a backup car in case you can't complete it in one night.

To get to the rear strut, you have to remove the side sections of the back support and the trim piece where the backseat latches.

I'm also shopping for suspensions. After much research I've decided to get the Tokico Illumina; pricey but I like the adjustability option. For springs, H&R sports. I might place the order tonight

How much did you find the Illuminas for?

I paid about $550 for them on eBay about a year ago

440$ shipped, unless you are referring to the illumina coilovers which are 8xx
