1994 Accord Ex Misfire Problem
I have a 1994 Accord 4cyl. 2.2L VTEC Automatic.
The car has been misfiring and I recently took it to two of my uncles that have been mechanics for 20 years or longer hoping that they could help out. We are at a dead end to our knowledge of what to do and we're looking for a solution.
The Honda garage said they can't do anything unless the check engine light comes on so that's a no go for me.
The misfire only occurs when you are driving down the road trying to maintain speed (Floating as explained by one of my uncles). It doesn't happen when at idle or accelerating.
Parts we have replaced: (With no solution found yet.)
Plugs
Wires
Distributor Cap
Rotor Cap
Distributor
Fuel Filter
Timing Belt and
Balancing Belt
I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks.

Very possible to have plugged EGR ports. Command the EGR valve open at idle. If the car doesn't stall this may be the problem.
If you find the to be the case, there is a cover on the intake that can be removed to access the EGR ports for cleaning. The cover is directly under the fuel injector rail.

I'll check the EGR ports if that doesn't work I'll take it to the shop and get them to run the machine on it.
I'll get back to you if the problems still exist or if I get it fixed.
