Anyone know where I can buy something like this?
doesnt look like the most difficult thing to make, just get some metal from home depot, bet you could make somthing just like that for under 10 bucks
I've seen lots of horrible cars with a few nice parts on them.
I don't know of a manufacturer for a shield like that though. I would imagine a lot of them are custom made. I have seen a few before, but never put much thought into it.

well like quoted from above lowes or home deopt will be your best friend. not gonna be molded to the bumper but it will serve the purpose your looking for
Shields like this are (1) used on many different makes of vehicles and (2) can help prevent damage to the bumper, such as the bumper melting or becoming discolored from exhaust.
Carbign Craft and Varis makes them for the WRX, HKS and Varis makes them for the Evolution, Varis makes them for the 350Z and Carbign Craft makes them for the S2000 too.

I had one of those, it came with an exhaust I bought a long time ago. The bad thing is that i don't know what brand it was and it was for a hatch.
i honestly wouldnt put that ugly metal thing on my bumper f' that!!!!just take off the exhaust get a torch and melt the bumper where it touches the exhaust!!!!!
All shields don't have to look as poorly designed as the one the OP posted.

I didnt ask if it looks gay - I asked where I can buy it. My bumper is already melted from a couple lapping days and this would fix the problem. I don't give a **** how it looks.
the carbon fiber one looks better!!!!!!make your exhaust stick out an extra 1 or 2 and have it bent down abot an inch.... i had a shop do that to a exhaust on a prior car i had before my hatch and it never melted my bumper!!!
I had a 4 door Civic that the prior owner hacked part of the bumper away around the exhaust tips (very ricey 2 outlet muffler, sounded awful). A shield like that could cover up a very ignorant decision someone made. If you don't want flash, get some barbecue grill or engine paint.
To make it, some find some different sized pipes to bend the metal over. Shouldn't be too hard.

And Civics have cut outs for the exhaust. An easy way to tell this is to either go check out the nearest Civic or look at the first post again.
Wait... And you tried to say that exhaust shields / bumper protectors were rice? Ahahahahahaha!
i don't see how this is "ricy" or "gay" in any ways. you can paint match the plate so that at a glance it's hard to tell it's there. i'd take a plate over a melted bumper any day.
DCRB- i agree.... on top of that, that plate is problually cheeper then a new bumper plus paint.
Op, i would give making one a shot, This way you are able to make it to the exact specs you want it to be.

just thinking, metal does conduct heat, so if it is touching the muffler it may transfer through and melt the bumper anyway, so either stop the muffler from touching it, or you could mount it with little spacers to keep it off the plastic.

We understand that you think the exhaust shields / bumper protectors shown in this thread are "rice", "fried rice", "rice cooker" or "gay" or that it would be a better idea to cut out the bumper even though the bumper already has a notch for the exhaust piping.
The OP does not seem to care about your opinions, nor do I believe anyone helpful does either. I'm sure the OP is aware of the styling by now and has thought over his options.
Please keep your comments to yourself and up your post count elsewhere.
Thank you.

whatcivic, I'm sure there has to be a company willing to make you a one off in carbon fiber or you could get a local business to make one.
Better to see one of those carbon fiber or metal ones discolor or burn than your bumper.
I might be able to get one made locally too, but they usually work with strut bars and the like. If you message me to remind me I can try to call soon. I'm going to be busy the next week or so, so I'll need reminder(s)!
Oh, and check on WRX and Evo web forums. This seems pretty common for them to deal with.
