Hey guys,
I bought a brand new miller diversion 165 about 4 months ago. I barely use it because im just learning at i use it whenever I have time to practice, like two hours a week.
Two days ago i go to turn it on and nothing happens. I check the breaker and everything is good. I check the fuse on the back and that seems okay too.
After flicking the switch on and off ten times it comes on and the fan is running. I leave it on and the fan runs for like two hours but there is no power to the torch. you cannot weld.
I turn it off.
turn it back on and nothing happens. flick it on and off again like ten times and finally the lights come on..... in the power OFF position. wtf? but no power output to the torch. just lights.
Now when im working in the shop doing something else i cant hear odd noises coming from inside of it. so i unplugged it. Ive also tested it on other outlets and got the same results.
Im at a lose here. Tomorrow (monday) i am calling miller to see about warranty service.
Im just confused because its brand new and i know they are a great brand.
any ideas?

Unfortunately, **** happens.. The machine could of had a rough time being shipped and it rattled the insides all up. Even if you bought it locally, it had to be shipped to the store initially. The good news is that Miller will 100% stand behind their product and fix the issue assuming your machine is still within warranty.

sucks when you save up for something then it doesnt work.
Somehow im thinking its got something to do with the switch.

Since its brand new I'd tell them I want a new machine. If it was me and this machine was F-ed up right out the box I wouldn't want it, f.. that. I mean do you buy a brand new car and then it won't run? Its just not cool and there's a chance its a Lemon and its prone to issues, who knows.
