should it still prime???
ok, i'm helping my little brother do his senior project, we are bring back to life a stolen and recovered 96 4 door gsr.
the thieves stole the fuel pump and cut the pig tail to the fuel pump, along with everything else, but here's my question:
i got a fuel pump and a pig tail for it, spliced it back up, but i don't hear it prime when i turn the ignition on....BUT the engine is not installed and hooked up yet...
so should it prime with or without the engine hooked up?
or should it prime only with the engine hooked up?

IMO i would just wait untill the car has everything.. motor etc. this way you can cancel things out as you try an fix the problem..
not sure but i dont think it will prime with out any pressure... fuel rail.. fuel pressure reg fuel filter. not pos but would make sence.

I had a problem with my fuel pump not priming checked everything took me 3 days to find it i kept thinking bad fuel pump or main relay or busted fuse, and it turned out to be the engine ground that caused it not to prime
