so a buddy of mine was cruisin one day thorugh the rain, went over a deep puddle, didnt have the stock box on, sucked in alot of water. We tryed sucking it out the combustion chamber and manifold but everytime he trys to crank it the starter just 'clicks' like the starter aint gettin power or the batterys dead, but there are both just fine already switched out both. It may be locked but dont see why, Ceased? I heard if you try to turn the underdrive pullry counterclockwise it will cause it to break free? Any suggestions on what it might be?
take all spark plugs out than crank it by hand a few times then with key until all water is done flying out. (its siezed up cause theirs water on pistons and no way for air to get in their.) then change oil cause its probably going to be really milky. probably going to have to change it a couple times to get all water out. and probably going to have to change spark plugs. (but do not crank it until spark plugs are out cause u can bend a valve that way)
So you sucked in water, lots of it and dont see why it would lock up the motor? Really,? Well heres the basics, water and oil do not mix will in the block.
Drain the oil and see if there is water in it, It will be a milky color, second pull out the plugs and make sure they are dry. Check the dist. for moisture. And CRANK IT BY HAND counter clockwise to see if its free, if its not then your screwed.

yeah already changed out sprk plugs cus i knew the water might affect that, and changed the oil. And yeah i dont see how that will lock up the motor cus that usually happens when there is little oil in the motor or the squiters aint functioning properly causing friction on the main/rod bearings causing it to spin a bearing, knock, then it locks up. but i see where you getting at guess that will make it lock...good info ill try cranking it without the plugs in didnt think of that

this happened to me... i was stubborn about keeping my cold air intake instead of short ram intake, hydrolocked it and it still ran for a few months but it eventually blew out two huge holes on both sides of the block and broke a rod..
so if water doesnt compress wouldnt that technically raise your CR? maybe to unsafe levels? hence two huge holes in the block and broken connecting rod.

"If liquid is introduced at a volume greater than the volume of the combustion chamber at its minimum (top of the piston's stroke), the piston cannot complete its travel. Either the engine must stop rotating or a mechanical failure will occur."

same happened here. two big holes in front, one in the back..
bump!

i'm not sure how you are perceiving an increase in c/r.. maybe you're just not undertanding exactly what's occuring when an engine hydrolocks, i dunno.
