cant rev past 3100(limp mode)
so i have a 88 civic sedan dx with the d15b 5 speed. i put a tach on the car the other day to find proper shift points and what i found out is it only revs to 3100rpm so i checked the codes and found cel code 20 (ELD) did the eld test and the last spec with lights on was a little high 4.5 volts i think any ideas or test that could help me get out of limp mode???? all i want to do is rev can anyone help me?
im having the same problem. and im actually throwing up the same code. im anyone has help can u help me out. i can get up to 80mph so im fine but the shyt scares me when im driving and it redlines from the limpmode.
HELP.. thanks
HELP.. thanks
you guys need to check your timing, your tps sensor may be bad or need recalibrated, or map sensor bad or need recalibrated. see, i can unplug the tps on my car with it running, and it wont die or stall, but it wont rev over 3k, it goes into limp mode, so i have to turn off the car, plug back up the tps, and let it sit for a few secs, then when i start it back up, i can rev all i want like i should be able to. so this leads me to believe the tps and map one one or all of your cars could be bad, or the plugs could be on backwards, ive seen that too. check these things and post back with results
