Default Apexi WS2 or CTR Exhaust

OK people I search and I didnt find want i was looking for so hear it goes..I personally have a Apexi WS2 muffler with a 2.25 exhaust with hytech headers the sound is quiet and quality is very good but recently I've been getting pull over for "EXHAUST" luckly I havent got a ticket. so I been looking into a Civic Type-R axle-back..so can anyone tell want the difference would be between the two..?

One is stock one is aftermarket, Stock muffles are pretty quite compared to most aftermarket exhuasts,
what do the cops say? too loud? you may just get pulled over cause it's shinny.

the cops say its to loud, I really dont think so. I know that one stock and the other is aftermarket...what I meant to say is the difference in performance wise..

I would say yes, but it's just a guess, i have no clue on how big the ctr piping is.

Have they ever measured the db level? I think something like 93db is legal in cali. Do you have a cat a resanator?

When i got pulled over for "LOUD EXAUST", i had to go to the place they told me to get it checked.

They told me it was 80db, anything over that would be too loud.

Some cops just wants to issue tickets even though we don't have any violation. Especially when its almost end of the month.

I do have a resonator and a cat... IF you get a fixed ticket you can take it to the bard inspection and if it passes then its legal..but I dont plan on doing this..I know the piping to the CTR is about 2.25.

Hmm, well the apexi ws2 imo is one of the quietest on the market, so i would shocked if you got a ticket for it.

I would say stay with the exhust you have but thats just me and i live in wa so i dont really have to worry about that. but if you want quite go for it. You may loose a hp or gain i dont know.

That's what I'm saying. It seems cops in CA harass honda enthusiasts for fun.

You're going to love it man. I've had both WS1 and WS2 systems and they are all around great. The best way I can describe the exhaust note is "buttery".

Yep, you can become a rebel and paint your WS2 black. But 80db is kinda low for aftermarket exhaust... In the end, I believe the WS2 will flow more than the CTR, but the CTR should come close.

I want a apexi now

The only way i can think of is to try it, unless there is someone that has gone for aftermarket to ctr, but i belive the apexi is 2.5 some correct me if im wrong, so its not much a difference for that.

The reason why cops pull you over is because the apexi exhaust looks huge as hell.. the tip looks huge also and its probably polished. I have an es oval exhaust and its way louder than my friend who has a ws2 exhaust. I never got pulled over yet (knock on wood) But when I compared the difference by visual inspection, its clear that my friend with the ws2 exhaust looks like its been modified.

As for ctr exhaust, it looks less modified than the apexi ws2. CTR exhaust was made for the type R model which revs to 8500rpms. Which means it couldnt be that restrictive as an apexi ws2 which was made for more mid range torque and daily driving.

ok. the ws2 is 2.5..but like he said that if the ctr revs pass 8000rpm then it must not be that restricted..but How about the 99-00 CIVIC SI (usdm) muffler..? these are way more common then CTR and less expensive...

That's funny..WS2 is too loud. I own one and I can't even hear it. Just do what I did, after I installed the WS2 I removed the tip and replaced it with a kragen/pep boys one. Granted you might get a few dark spots on your muffler, but it will stop all that attention you're currently getting now.

well I just call Apexi about there WS2..and what he said was that the WS2 was very similar to the CTR and you might loose a few horsepower since the piping is smaller..but other then that its a preference what look your trying to go for.... I'll keep you guys posted when its for sale...
